About John VerMeulen
John VerMeulen has over 40 years of executive management, strategic leadership and consulting experience, including Co-Founding Optisave, LLC, an IT optimization firm serving hospitals and health systems nationwide for 25 years.
John’s area of expertise is leveraging technology to improve productivity, compliance, customer/patient experience, and reduce costs. As a Co-Founder of Optisave, LLC, his focus has been on healthcare providers, during which time he has led teams working on numerous engagements, producing savings more than $1 billion. John drives excellence in his team, has exceptional collaboration, negotiation and analysis skills, and is known for his integrity, broad operational and technical knowledge, and special talent for bringing together stakeholders toward achieving a common goal. John is recognized for his long career partnering with IT organizations to develop a strategic technology roadmap and mentoring clients in vendor negotiation.
Background
John’s prior work experience includes serving as Managing Director with Huron Consulting, senior management positions with a diversified group of technology organizations including United Technologies and General Dynamics, and participating in four start-ups. John has a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics at Hope College, participated in the AEA Stanford Executive Institute, Stanford University, and is the holder of two U.S. Patents. John is based in Grand Rapids, MI, and his main hobby is traveling, especially on the QEII. Though his favorite city is London, he has logged over 10 million airline miles and traveled around the world three times!
