About Andy Poorman
Andy is a trusted advisor with more than 18 years of healthcare experience, including over 16 years in healthcare consulting.
He has advised academic medical centers, national and regional health systems, integrated delivery networks, and children’s hospitals, helping clients identify and realize more than $250 million in annualized financial benefit. Andy specializes in enterprise performance improvement initiatives spanning clinical and non-clinical purchased services, including pharmacy, laboratory, information technology, revenue cycle, and indirect spend.Andy has led complex, multidisciplinary engagements and works closely with healthcare executives and operational leaders to align margin improvement initiatives with each organization’s strategic, financial, operational, and clinical priorities.
Known for his collaborative and relationship-driven approach, Andy believes the greatest value is created by looking beyond price alone. He helps clients strengthen supplier partnerships, improve governance, optimize contracting strategies, and address the operational factors necessary to achieve sustainable, measurable results.
Background
Andy earned a BS in Community Health at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and a MS in Health Systems Management at Rush University. Andy currently resides in Peoria, IL with his wife, two children and golden retriever. He enjoys the outdoors and especially loves making birdies on the golf course. He is a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and all things Illini!
